Summer Dresses Under $100

It has been HOT here and the thought of wearing anything besides a light, breezy dress seems miserable. There is no outfit that makes someone feel better than a dress you can throw on with your favorite sandals and simply walk out the door. There are so many sweet ones right now and the best part is they are budget friendly. Here are some current favorites...

Summer Lovin'

How is Summer going?
I am trying to relish in the madness of it and really enjoy the moments as they are happening. Like sun soaked pool days, friendly tennis matches, and backyard bbq with lots of kids running about. And while there is always the ever looming "What is next/What should I be preparing for?" swimming in my head, this summer has been all about ignoring it. Just flying through it all and being (dare shall I say the buzz word???) present.
A few fun new outfits can always make these warm days event better, so you know I have been scoping out a few new things. Here are some of the best...

1. I think I could live in this cute jumpsuit
3. The perfect puff sleeve sweatshirt for cool nights
4. Just wore this breezy dress and love it
5. These pink jeans are high waisted, cropped, and the perfect hue
6. Just invested in these platform Golden Goose's and I am not regretting it one bit
7. This camo windbreaker is a great activewear topper
8. Such a sucker for a block print in an easy dress
9. Just bought this Nars oil infused lippy, and it is so moisturizing

Puff Piece

When I was little, there was a lot of dress up. While I played a lot with other kids, I also really loved just being on my own playing pretend. I would try on costumes in my room and twirl in front of the big antique mirror while making up stories. And to no one's surprise, those costumes leaned heavy on princesses. Now even as grown ups, it is nice to wear something that feels nostalgic and might even take you to a different place. The puff sleeve trend is certainly taking me back a little and it is also just a really pretty detail that elevates a dress instantly. Even if you do not gravitate towards super girly pieces, a little puff can add just a touch of femme to simple summer dresses.

Here are twelve sweet little numbers that I would love on repeat all summer long

1. OBSESSED with this blue floral dress, pictured above / 2. Flattering white shirt dress  / 3. Great soft floral dress with ruffles  / 4. The stripes and wrap effect of this dress is SO flattering  / 5. A t shirt dress to live in / 6.  The prettiest floral dress for an event / 7. Love this tangerine dress / 8. A sweet as can be soft blue dress / 9. This pink printed dress is so fun / 10. Simple black dress, love the neckline / 11.  Cute khaki dress to wear anywhere / 12. This white dress screams summer

Five Fresh Looks For Spring

There is a reason that spring is the season of fresh, clean starts. All that dirty snow has disappeared, the mounds of dirty wet clothes have disappeared from the back door, and sweet little green buds have begun to change the entire palette of your once brown yard. Take a deep breath and enjoy, you made it!
Fun, fresh spring looks are also a right of passage into this sunshine (and rosé filled) season. Pastels, whites, open toes, floral everything, and wovens are all ready to be placed firmly in your rotating wardrobe. So here are five fun looks that are a breath of fresh air with a splash of whimsy.

This dress ($300)! Love the sweet print so much. You could also tie it in the back. Paired with some tortoise shades ($55), a cute woven bag ($172) , and these AMAZING marigold sandals ($136) it is perfect for any event or party.

A fresh white shirt ($65) looks so good with these cropped straight leg jeans ($98). The white heels ($595) are super chic and gorgeous. These tortoise hoops ($36) are killer and this convertible bag ($98) screams "I am a cool french girl."

I want to LIVE in this white gauze dress ($246), which IS lined. These mirrored pink glasses ($60) are so great and this bag is a tote/backpack/shoulder bag ($795) that can fit your laptop and all the things. And these white sandals ($175) are giving me Dr. Scholl's vibes in all the right ways.

I love these pink sandals  ($495) SO much that I had to pair them with two dresses. ha This pink shirt dress ($276) is easy and works for so many occasions or no occasion at all really. And this sweet floral dress  ($290) is comfy, but chic. Add these fun heart hoops ($32) and pink Chloe bag ($1800) to either for a fun look.

This sweatshirt ($148) has the sweetest neckline that elevates an otherwise boring (but favorite) choice. Paired with these Levi's ($98) that look so flattering and easy to wear with cute sneakers ($140) is the perfect casual outfit. Top with these cute glasses ($59) and the perfect tote ($198) to fit everything and you are set.

Happy Spring friends!

What to Wear: Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is the best, right?
Family, friends, cooking, football, good wine, and the inevitable lounge afterward.
Though I know not every Thanksgiving is stress-free or drama-free, the thought of all those smiling faces gathered around tables gives me all the warm feels.
Do you dress up for Thanksgiving? I would say our family tends to be casual dressy, but I know plenty of dress codes are happening. I would say pants are off the table, because zips and buttons in the mid section are no friend to this holiday.
It is safe to say I want EVERY ONE of these as the prints and colors are giving me all the holiday vibes. So cheers to full tummys, happy tables, and the perfect dress for it all.

Feeling Fall Florals

Though floral usually screams warmer months, dark florals are the perfect print for Fall. A moody take on the floral dress can be such an easy way to bring some femme to the heavy clothes we are sporting.

I love this La Vie Rebecca Taylor version (unfortunately sold out) and am excited to wear it with boots. There are plenty of moody floral dresses perfect for throwing on during the day with flat over the knee boots. And I love a long version with your favorite mules or booties.

The Chicest White Dresses

There is something so incredibly chic about a little white dress. They have an ease and always look expensive, even if they are not. And as one who tends to be a spiller (and tripper, and scuffer) they can scare me. But, that is what spot cleaner and dry cleaners are for, right? I pulled some of the prettiest shapes and fabrics of the season and for every occasion (even the beach) except weddings. That is still an absolute no-no.

Spring Forward

"Florals? For Spring? How groundbreaking."

It is true. Florals have always been there. But somehow the recent prints and applications feel really fresh. I am even loving a full blown grandma print. Lady like, but with a modern twist. Here are some options that I am loving, some you could even wear now layered with your winter pieces and later all on their own.

1. A folky floral print that I am obsessed with. (on sale)
2. The bow and black piping makes this rose print blouse so modern. (love this blouse too)
3. A classic and sweet wrap dress
4. Such a fun and colorful off the shoulder dress. (this one is pretty too)
5. This trumpet style dress would be flattering on almost anyone. LOVE
6. This dress is what I want to wear every day once it is warm. (this is a fun skirt too)
7. This Liberty print is everything in this off the shoulder top
8. This jumpsuit is so good, bold, but so good.
9. A pretty skirt to pair with tights now and strappy sandals later.
10. Love a moody floral and this dress has such pretty details.
11. A simple silhouette in this flutter dress, but in a pretty blush.
12 A simple sheath made so pretty with pink and red flowers.
13. A little boho with ruffles, this dress would be perfect for Spring Break.

Make Me Blush

Happy Weekend loves. Anything fun planned? We are going to enjoy a good amount of unscheduled fun with the kids and then I have the privilege of co-hosting a baby shower for two lovely ladies. Both of which are having baby girls, which is sooo on trend right now. Well at least the pink part. ha Blush is everywhere and I am digging it. It is an easy neutral to work into your stand by pieces and looks good on everyone. Plus, who could not feel feminine and cheery in soft pink? That is right, no one. Comfy, Cozy, and Cute

With the holidays over, we are now just in those lame winter months that have us gravitating to all things cozy. And while athleisure is most certainly a thing, sometimes getting it right can be tricky. I am the kind of girl that if I do not put on work out clothes in the morning, going to the gym is never going to happen. The trick is to add in some pieces to wear over all that spandex that makes it an actual outfit. I put together some full blown casual outfits and some great options you can throw on over your favorite lulus and still feel put together a bit.

1. These yoga leggings have a cute slit and banding that makes them stand out. / 2. I love this ruffled sweatshirt so much. (this one would be cute too) / 3. Totally obsessed with these blue gazelles. How I loved these in middle school.

You can never go wrong with the  (1) classic lulu leggings (the high waist is everything)  and (2) a striped sweatshirt tunic. Basically my uniform. 3. Love these leather Vans and a great price.

1. I own these pants and love them.  / 2.  Nothing better than a chunky knit. comes in a few colors / 3. These slip on tie front sneaks are genius. Comes in other other colors too.

1. I love a vintage looking sweatpants and these have a great zipper detail.  / 2. I know, a silk shirt seems fancy, but I love it paired with straight up sweatpants. Give it a little front tuck.  / 3. Classic Stan Smiths that apparently every girl in Paris is wearing right now.

1. Soft, but tailored pants that look like real pants, but feel like sweats / 2. This soft chambray shirt would look great front tucked into the pants.  / 3. These pink kicks would be cheery on gray days

1. A classic adidas track pant in a slim legging like fit. Love the color / 2. An investment knit that is super soft. This one is great too ($23!).  / 3. I have these and love them so much. Comes in a bunch of colors.

You could throw on any of these dresses over leggings and call it a day, pulled together at that
1. Worship this tie sweatshirt dress. / 2. The easiest tee shirt dress to wear over your leggings.  ($18!) Own it, love it / 3.  Love this sweet little dress / 4. A super soft swing sweatshirt dress is perfect (this is also the best) / 5. This long dress looks cozy, but somehow super chic. ($26!) / 6. I think I own this dress in every version from every store on the planet.

Hope your week is cozy and chic.

Friday Favorites

Aaannnnndddd, it's the weekend. Thank goodness. I am off with my high school friends to celebrate a very special bride to be for the weekend. There will be a lot of wine spritzers, 90s hip hop, and laughing until our face hurts. Cannot wait. I hope you are up to something fun too. Here are my current favorites from the week...

1. I have been without a LBD for sometime, so when I stumble upon this Helmet Lang one it was fate. Thick scuba fabric that does not cling or wrinkle, and can easily be dressed up or down.
2. Mary and I have been sporting our new Käärmi bands every day.
3. Loving this in shower body lotion. Nice to not have to be cold out of the shower, then put cold lotion on. Works great too.
4. Loving the look of steel shower doors. Gearing up for a remodel and hoping we can execute it. Anyone have them? Would love to hear your thoughts.
5. Found the perfect not really red, not really pink shade of lip gloss that can be layered for less or more impact.
6. Went a bit off my usual sunglasses style with these Marc Jacobs aviators, for sure my most complimented pair to date.
7. Still love walking into the family room and seeing this giant ottoman from Minda Home.  And those Caitlin Wilson pillows
8. I was gifted this pouch set by Roberta Roller Rabbit and have been using them every day since. They are waterproof and perfect for wet bathing suits and sunscreen.
9. I have been living in this super soft romper all summer. I wish I had it in five colors.

Happy Weekend!

Summer Staple: The Embroidered Dress

There are those magic pieces of clothing in your closet that you reach for all summer long. You might wear it so much it does not survive the next year. And that is okay because it means you made a sweet investment. A boho-meets-preppy embroidered dress can absolutely be that work horse piece that takes you from errand running, to the pool, and out for an al fresco dinner. Just add leather sandals for day and your favorite wedges for night. Here are twelve options that I am lusting after.

9. Michael Kors (on sale) / 10. Ulla Johnson (on sale) / 11. Sea / 12. Rebecca Taylor

Happy Weekend!
