Though the world is just not itself right now, it appears as if most are making the best of it. From backyard baby pool parties with the littles to lake house getaways with grandparents to cross country road trips to see the sights, I am loving the optimism in an absolutely insanely crappy situation. So your pool dips may be only with your kids and your neighbors pool is the only one you are having beers at, there is still lots of reasons for a cute one piece and a cover up to sport. I have been hunting for good one pieces for months and landed on a few I like a lot, plus all these covers up make them an actual outfit you could stroll the neighbor hood in. So cheers to Summer, whatever you are making of it.
I am having all the love for the sunshine and slightly warmer temps and I know that it is giving everyone a little Spring Fever. The actual Spring might be a little farther away than we would like, but soon friends, soon! Everything looks a little better come March and if you are like me or anyone I know, we are all in much need of the uplift of some extra Vitamin D.
Shopbop is having their big Spring sale and almost the entire site is included (use code SPRING at checkout)! I picked all the best out to help us satisfy this fever and be ready for when it hits above 60 degrees.
You all gave me so many great ideas for new posts on insta! Thank you so much and I am hoping to get to most of them in the coming weeks.
Multiple requests were made for a matching lounge set. Since we are settling in the depths of winter, this came as no surprise. You might be slipping it on to relax on the weekends, pulling it on for morning drop off, or wearing it ALL OF THE TIME. Either way, nothing feels more pulled together but ready for the couch like a matching sweat suit.
I know some of you love a print or a bright and others gravitate towards neutrals, so included lots of options.
*Note: almost all of these come in other colors if you click for details*
1. A super chic update on a velour tracksuit (top + bottom $220)
I know, workout clothes post in January, how groundbreaking?
But honestly it is one thousand percent true that if you have a cute outfit for the gym you are way more excited to go. Trying to hustle in pilled leggings and your old college tee is not really going to be the kick in the ass you need to get out the door. But leggings that make your booty look good and a perfectly flattering top, well that will get you there.
In case you are wondering what my workout goals might be this year, I actually did not make any. I would like to keep moving my body in lots of different ways and to feel really good about how I feel inside. If the outside might gain some benefit, fantastic, but honestly I want to be able to do all the things well into my 80s and that is only possible if I stay in motion.
Of all the exercise I do, Pilates is by far the best. I have osteoarthritis and have had it since I was 19, so joint health and strength is huge for me. I started going to pilates regularly after some terribly boring PT that did not feel like a workout. Luckily, I have found a studio that not only is helping me build a better body for my entire life but also gives me the workout that I need to feel satisfied that I actually got a workout. For locals, Tensile Strength is the absolute best! And for anyone (especially those who want to try or need a workout on the go) here is a mat workout video I did with my teacher, Jessica, that gets you sweating, stretching, and those abs burning.
As for my other workouts, I love the Tuesday Tabata at SBC, tennis drills with my fave gals, running on a treadmill while watching Bravo, and my newest addition, the Pelaton. Still easing in but so far I like it.
So while I am in motion, these are my favorite pieces that get me motivated and I feel fine wearing around town post workout. Each of them I have bought more than once and continue to grab when I see new colors on sale.
1. & 2. GameSetStyle is such a go to site for me with the most curated items. Plus, they will put together a style box for you to take the guess work out. A muscle tank and Terez leggings never fail.
3. This jacket is crazy warm and the color combo is so fun. Goes way beyond the normal fleece.
4. & 5. I am obsessed with this sport bra and its old school design, really comfy. And these leggings are comfy and cute, plus come in so many fun colors. Save when you do a set.
6. & 7. I cannot tell you how many times I have bought this tank and leggings over the years. I have 3 pairs in black right now and reach for them over and over.
8. Words cannot express my love for this tennis dress. I have it in white, but am coveting the black.
9. & 10. The Maria line from Nike always has the cutest sets that are also comfortable. They always run small, so size up. I love how flouncy this skirt is and a matching top is always a great look.
11. Of course I have a bubble gum pink fit and flare tennis dress?! haha it also comes in black and white and is honestly one of the best fitting dresses.
12. &13. I thought I would always stay true to Lulu, but honestly Athleta has serious upped their game. These leggings are crazy soft and this top is the perfect length. xo erin Shop The Post
I know I post about Shopbop so much, but I am loyal to them because they really are the best. The website is easy to use and navigate, the items comes so fast for free, you can link your amazon account, and returns are a breeze. Your order comes with a label and you just slap it back on the box and drop at the post office. Plus, you can receive lots of great perks if you stay loyal including random gift certificates and first looks at sales.
Ok, my pitch is done (and FYI, I was not paid to say that! ha)
They are currently having a buy more save more, so it is the perfect time to grab that pair of shoes for holiday parties you are coveting, the dress you really want for that weddings, or cozy pjs for holiday mornings. Just use code MORE19 at checkout!
I am getting the itch to put on some sequins and have a proper drink with heels on. Which is a big change from my sweats and Netflix rotation that I have lovingly settled into with the cold weather. So the invitations to cocktail parties and cookie exchanges and work celebrations roll in, let's get excited for the nights ahead. And a killer outfit makes it even more exciting. I wanted to put together looks with pieces that have longevity, can be worked into your closet easily, and are straight up fun.
Dead over this sequin top! And I love a velvet jean for winter, especially in this dark green. A classic camel coat (on sale and comes in so many colors) makes for chic nights and paired with this white bucket and these pumps (on sale!) I am obsessed with this entire look.
A jumpsuit is always the perfect outfit, the end. This one is SO GOOD too. A leopard fur coat that makes cold nights fun, plus these cute bow mules that I LOVE.
Even if the dress code is more casual, there are so many fun ways to amp it up. Showing a little shoulder in this top with high waisted jeans that are cropped perfectly for these feather slides. Add a little sparkle with these ear cuffs and how fun is this star coat? Such a great statement piece.
Casual can still be super cute. I am kind of obsessed with these boots since they look cozy and comfy. An old school sweater and modern cords scream I am ready for all the cookies and champagne.
I polled you all on instagram on what you wanted to see next, Thanksgiving outfits or holiday dresses, and it was legit a perfect 50/50! So I will do both this week, with Thanksgiving outfits first. I know that we all celebrate Thanksgiving weekend in different ways and there is more than just the main event on Thursday. Between family breakfasts, drinks with friends, and movie night with the kids there are lots of opportunities for cute looks. So from dressy to casual, here are 8 looks to wear. And I have to say I LOOOOOVE all of them. Hard to pick a favorite...
How comfy and chic does this sweater dress look?? I forgot to include this belt if you wanted to cinch it. Hair pulled back with gold hoops and leopard booties is the perfect cozy, but tailored look.
I know, more leopard (insert eye roll), but I can't help it! A silky midi skirt with an oversized sweater is such a classic look that is majorly in right now. Make it even better paired with sneakers.
These jeans are everything. And the shape of these clogs are such a throwback yet modern. A pom sweater that you know you will get compliments on for days.
When you spend more than half the year just above or below freezing you live in a big coat. And as the winter drags on in all its gray glory, it is really nice to bundle up in something that is cheery and fun. So while a nice black parka is nice to have, it is the fur trimmed, bright, or printed coat that will make you you smile and keep you warm. There are so many great options this year and better yet so many at every price point.
I am gearing up for a weekend away with friends (solo!) so this week will be all about doing the prep. It always makes me feel better to leave when things are organized for my crew, but getting it together can be stressful. So I have lots of lists going, some meals to prep, and more importantly outfits to plot for packing. I will be posting a bunch while I am gone, so make sure to follow on Insta! In the meantime, here are a few favorites from last week...
1. Mary has a super cozy fleece that I have been jealous of or weeks and I finally found one just like it. ON SALE woohoo!
2. I use this rich lotion year round, but as it gets colder I need it even more. I slather on my hands each night and massage into any extra dry patches I might have. It really is a cure all and non-toxic.
3. The last thing I needed was more pajamas or sweat suits, but here we are getting more. And I LOVE this set from Splendid so much. It is crazy soft and cozy, but not too hot so you can wear to sleep too. I wore it to drop off and possibly the entire next day after sleeping in it. ha
4. I am almost done with this book that weaves a complicated story of a family of four very different sisters. Fun and sad and true, you will love it.
5. Speaking of sad, I am SO sad I plowed through all the episodes of Workin' Moms on Netflix. I need something new!
6. The perfect sweater dress is kind of the holy grail of Fall. Add tights and you also have the best winter outfit. This wine colored number might just be it.
7. You know I am big Glossier fan (this and this I use every day) and I am loving the new formula of the Generation G lipsticks. Think of it as part stain, part 'I just blotted my lipstick" without the blotting. The Jam color seems like it would be so dark, but I think it is the perfect berry for Fall.
The charm of Fall is upon on us. From the lit up leaves to the warm spiced coffees and little people in puffy coats. We love it all and are hoping it lasts for as long as possible. The coziness of it all is great, but can sometimes mean that style gets lost. There are so many cute pieces that are actually functional for all the phases of your day and can be worn well into winter. Loving all five of these looks so much and that you can mix and match almost all of them.
Because I know you have been thinking about all the things you want for Fall, but have yet to pull the trigger, let's get pumped for the Fall Shopbop sale where you get up to 25% off the entire site. Whohoo!
They call this the stock up sale, because it really is a good one to get all those essentials for Fall you actually need. I always order undies, pajamas, and t-shirts, then add in the pieces that are missing for the season. This year I need a cozy coat for cold soccer games, another sweat set because of course, and a fun cocktail dress for an event.
Here are some of my favorite picks too!

1. I just got this dress and worship it! So flattering and great to throw on and feel put together.
While I will mourn the ease of a breezy summer dress, Fall really is the best for fashion. Cozy sweaters, jeans, and the need to not get regular pedicures is fantastic.
And while I will always love a good white tee half tucked into jeans and sneakers, it is fun to have a few stand out items that set outfits apart.
There are a lot of fuzzy fabrics, leopard, and pink in fall fashion and I love it.
Mix in some well tailored classics and you will love getting dressed as the leaves begin to fall.
All of these picks are under $100 and needless to say I want them all!
1. In case you haven't been able to tell, I am living for a matched sweat set right not. This white fleece one is SO good. (top)
2. A classic pump with a comfy stacked heel you can wear with everything.
3. Wide leg pants are everywhere, but I love the color of these and the crop. (comes in other colors)
I am trying to relish in the madness of it and really enjoy the moments as they are happening. Like sun soaked pool days, friendly tennis matches, and backyard bbq with lots of kids running about. And while there is always the ever looming "What is next/What should I be preparing for?" swimming in my head, this summer has been all about ignoring it. Just flying through it all and being (dare shall I say the buzz word???) present.
A few fun new outfits can always make these warm days event better, so you know I have been scoping out a few new things. Here are some of the best...
With the current rebirth of 90s trends came the inevitable crop top. I remember flipping through my Delia's catalog and circling the cropped tube tops and praying my mom would let me order them (she didn't). And while I never in my wildest dreams would think that I would be entering "crop top" in any retailer search, I have been. Even at "inching towards forty" the crop top is on my radar. Not the belly button showing/strapless tube top/tighter than necessary ones of my teens, but the slightly cropped/not showing any belly/goes great with Mom jeans kind.
The cropped top and the high waisted jean are your new favorite combo, swear. With the jeans pulling you in and elongating your legs and the top in an easy fit that shows that off, you are golden.
Here are some great combos and almost all of these can be mixed and matched.

1 & 2 This TOP! Love it and I own these jeans and they are the best white I have ever gotten.
3 & 4 A tie makes a simple white shirt special and I also own these pink jeans and worship them.
5 & 6 High waist and light wash, we really are back in the 90s in the best way. Love them with a patriotic tee.
7 & 8 J. Crew does a high crop really well and this seersucker top is perfect with it. (also in white)
9 & 10 I also own this shirt and it is the sweetest. How cute with these yellow jeans with white piping?
11. & 12 This silky tee is a great crop gateway. And I LOVE these jeans. The cut is amazing.
