A Little Sweetness

I am really feeling the love from everyone after yesterday's post. Thank you so much for the support and well wishes. The little babe is loving the attention, I can tell from all the extra kicks today.

Something else that gets me excited are the Courtin-Clarins girls. These ladies are always crushing it and I worship their put-together, yet bohemian style.

I am especially loving their mary janes at a recent Louis Vuitton opening. The black and white are freaking amazing. That is the best way to describe them, even though it is not very eloquent.

And while you can purchase them at Louis Vuitton, the price tag might be a bit much. Ok, a lot. Although I am keeping them on my wish list.

There are a few choices out there that are much more closer to earth, and possibly your closet.

1. Wide bow with platform Miu Miu $540
2. T-strap mary janes Tibi $436
3. Tap shoes Pour La Victoire $107
4. Platform peep toe mary janes Sam Edelman $60
5. Metallic pump ASOS $64

Kind of dying over the flats, they look just like the tap shoes I sported 20 years ago. So sweet.

Wedding Dressing

Here we are in the thick of wedding season and I came across this lovely picture on FB of two gorgeous girls headed to a chic Chicago wedding.

Christina (left) wears Halston Heritage dress, Vince Camuto shoes, Urban Outfitters earrings, and vintage watch. Marita (right) wears BCBG dress, nude heels from Guess, and earrings from Francesca's

Christina (licensed professional counselor) and Marita (interior designer) are wearing two of my favorite styles for summer weddings, brights and prints. While we all love a little black dress, a bright or printed dress is so much more fun and a way to make a statement (not taking away from the bride, of course) when attending a summer soiree.

Shopbop has to be the best place to go online to shop for dresses. With their vast selection, easy return policy, and current summer sale, they are the greatest.

Their selection of prints is amazing, but as I have said before, prints are personal. The below prints spoke to me, but may not to you. I am also really into sleeves on dresses right now, so I was drawn to the shirt dress styles.

When it comes to color, the brighter the better in my book. One solid bright can take a classic dress cut to something extraordinary.

Four wedding invitations sit on my desk next to me and some of the above are in my future.

What are you wearing to your summer weddings?

Pajama Party

There is a lot of softness going around this Spring and it makes me feel like owning everything in soft colors and soft fabrics. Whether it is blazers, pants, or tanks, this season has a lot of lounge to it and there is a lot to love about this look. I am currently on a no shopping stint thanks to lent (yes, I gave it up for lent and have not broken yet!). So I swept my closet for softness and came up with these DVF silk pants from last season. I love the drawstring, the ease of the fit and the cuff on the bottom. Though these might be a little more harem than pajama, I will have to make do until I can hit the stores again in a few LONG weeks. The feeling that these pants have that I want from this look is that they are super comfortable. It really does feel like I could be in my pajamas and yet I am up out of bed. I have done some pre-shopping and have come up with some great options for us to dive into.

Shoes are YSL similar to these I found on sale.
Bracelets are a mix of vintage bargains
Clutch is Prada, from Saks, that I could not find online

A Soft, Robe-like Trench from the Gap
Studio Dinner Jacket from Zara
Alexander Wang Brown Layered Skirt
Light Chambray Blazer from Tibi
Slouchy Trouser from Alice & Olivia
Tapered Trouser from Top Shop
Silk Blouse from Silence & Noise at Urban
Chiffon Cardigan also from Silence & Noise
Comfy Yet Chic Maxi Dress from Free People
Roomy Tank From Frenchi  (I own this in 4 colors, my go to top. The soft pink is perfection)
